Popular Dog RunsWednesday 28th March 2007 at 1:18AM Posted by Adrian Thompson, Webmaster Many consumers now want to cover areas of their garden that dogs have completely ruined. These areas, sometimes referred to as dog runs, are significantly benefited by the use of artificial grass. Muddy or barren patches caused by your energetic pet are restored permanently as animals cannot cause damage to quality synthetic grass surfaces. See the photo albums in our interactive section for examples of dog runs.
Dog urine or excrement will not discolour the artificial grass and the smell will not be retained within the grass. The synthetic surface will naturally clean itself when it rains. When dealing with dog dirt, simply act as you would with normal grass. Pick up the larger pieces and leave the small sediments to drain down through the base. Feedback from pet owners utilising artificial grass dog runs within their gardens have often commented that animals appear to treat the new synthetic turf just like the genuine article. This allays any concern that dogs might not take to the fake grass. The only upset for your four-legged friend maybe the inability to bury bones! So the overall consensus is a yes for artificial grass from creatures both great and small because the dog run is a maintenance free pet friendly solution.
